Cat Vosper

Casita Miro Restaurant is the 'raison d'etre' of Cat Vosper, wife of Miro Vineyard winemaker Barnett Bond, mother of George, Harrison and Miro and former lawyer. Cat's passion for the food and wine of Spain and the Mediterranean was the catalyst to start what is now the award winning Casita Miro. After several years of serving tapas informally on the terrace overlooking the vineyards, Cat eventually sold the kids in order to build the beautiful art nouveau style pavilion now housing the restaurant. Casita has won numerous awards including Audi Metro 2011 Rural Restaurant of the Year as well as Cat winning the 2011 Restaurant Personality of the Year. Whilst we are humbled by these awards, we try not to rest on our laurels and constantly strive to be one of Auckland's finest restaurants. Most recently the restaurant was announced as a finalist in the Metro 2016 Restaurant of the Year awards AND a finalist in Cuisine Magazines GOOD FOOD GUIDE 2015

Cristian Hossack

Cristian hails from Marton, a small town in the Rangitikei area in the north island New Zealand. Initially working in Queensland as a kitchen porter he then returned to New Zealand and worked as a barista at George Street Deli in Palmerston North. Stints helping out in the kitchen motivated Cristian to gain some formal qualifications. Once qualified, Cristian spent time cooking in Wellington, Melbourne and London before finally settling down at Peter Gordon's famed London restaurant 'The Providores' in Marylebone High St. Rising from Chef de Partie to Head Chef during his 8 year stay, this was a seminal role. After leaving The Providores, Cristian and his partner Lena travelled through Europe in a VW camper van. After a stint at Oneroa's Oyster Inn, we were delighted to welcome Cristian to Casita Miro to take the reins in the kitchen.
