Casita Miro's Social Responsibility Policy

Purpose: To ensure the responsible sale and supply of alcohol in compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and Auckland Council requirements, minimizing harm and promoting community wellbeing.

1. Responsible Sale and Service

• Alcohol will not be sold to minors or intoxicated persons.

• Staff will be trained regularly on legal obligations and responsible service practices using tools like ServeWise.

• Managers with appropriate certification will be present during trading hours.

• Promotion of low and non-alcoholic beverages alongside alcohol will be encouraged.

2. Dealing with Minors and Intoxication

• Identification will be checked for all customers who appear under 25 years of age.

• Any attempt by a minor to purchase alcohol will be refused, and staff will be trained to handle such situations professionally.

• Intoxicated customers will be refused service and offered assistance to leave safely.

3. Maintaining Good Order and Amenity

• The premises will be kept clean, safe, and free from disorderly behaviour.

• Noise, litter, and any nuisance will be actively managed to respect the local community.

4. Delivery Policy

• Alcohol deliveries will only be made between 6 am and 10 pm, in line with legal requirements.

• Reasonable steps will be taken to verify the age of the purchaser and the receiver at the point of delivery, including requesting valid ID.

• Deliveries will not be left unattended unless prior arrangements ensure the recipient is of legal drinking age and can securely receive the order.

• Delivery staff will be trained on responsible delivery practices and legal obligations.

• Remote sales will comply with all Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act regulations, including restrictions on delivery times and days (e.g., no delivery after 10 pm or before 6 am).

5. Staff Training and Compliance

• All staff will undergo regular training on the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act, social responsibility, and delivery protocols.

• Training records will be maintained and available for inspection by authorities.

This policy demonstrates commitment to responsible alcohol supply and community safety, meeting Auckland Council and legal expectations for off-licence holders
