This summer found our brave jazz trio traversing a trackless section of the southern alps, sleeping beneath boulders and cramponing across ice slopes in search of ever more profound inspiration for their jazz journeys. Love Square have always had an epic side. Yes they groove, swing, march and dance, but they also love a cinematic moment, a jazz cadenza suspended from a low-angled ray of amber sunlight. Casita Miro provides the band with the perfect canvas on which to paint their lush musical brush-strokes.
Ardent fans of the local scene will recognise Nick Atkinson as the bass clarinet playing half of Hopetoun Brown and he's a founding member of funk juggernaut Supergroove. Trumpeter Finn Scholes has found fame leading his own accomplished ensemble Carnivorous Plant Society. While Alistair Deverick impersonates everyone from John Bonham to Ringo Starr with the big-name, hard-touring Come Together band. Al's speciality though is setting his two horn playing buddies free to blaze brightly while taking you on an aural journey around the world fuelled by the rhythms of South America, the Caribbean and Ethiopia.
When the three members of Love Square assemble you know the sticks will start smouldering. This August at Casita Miro it's going to catch fire. It's the absolute winter highlight for these players. Tickets always go fast for these spots so don't sleep!
Doors will open at 6pm with dinner service from 6:30 and music beginning once the first wave of tapas is served. Three sets of music alongside three courses with the evening ending at approximately 10pm.
Your table booking will be made according to the number of tickets purchased. Please inform us if you would like to be seated with friends who have made a separate booking.
*Your ticket includes a 3 course Fiesta Menu. Menus will be finalised and sent out 3-4 weeks ahead of the event. Please inform us of any dietary requirements when purchasing your tickets.
